Mohamed Salah, a winger for Liverpool, has claimed that he is “devastated” that they would not be competing in the Champions League the following year.
Following Manchester United’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea, which guaranteed Erik ten Hag’s team would win the league, the Reds will participate in the Europa League.
Following the match, Salah tweeted:
“I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this.
“We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed.
“We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.”
United will join Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United in the Champions League.
