Ronaldo reveals what Saudi Arabia needs to be among world's top five leagues

Cristiano Ronaldo, an Al Nassr forward, claimed that the Saudi Pro League might rank among the top five leagues in the world.

In a January transfer valued more than €200 million, Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United.

The 38-year-old has competed in and won titles with Real Madrid (Spain), Manchester United (England), and Juventus (Italy) in three of the greatest leagues in the world.

And he is confident that Saudi Arabia’s football can compete with that of Europe in terms of quality.

“We are much better and the Saudi league is getting better and the next year will be even better,” Ronaldo told Saudi SSC channel on Tuesday.

“Step-by-step, I think this league will be among the top five leagues in the world, but they need time, players and infrastructure.

“But I believe that this country have amazing potential, they have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion.”
