Police prevents LSDPC staff from jumping off 3rd Mainland Bridge

Lagos State police prevents a staff of the Lagos State Development and property Corporation LSDPC, Akinlolu Ajayi from jumping off 3rd mainland bridge.

Akinlolu Ajayi was reportedly sighted at the University of Lagos waterfront end of the 3rd Mainland bridge and was ready to take a jump into the lagoon.

The policemen on routine patrol were alerted by the motorists and passerby.

A spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Ade Ajisebutu confirmed the incident and described the policemen quick response as a demonstration of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and properties of the citizens.

“The incident happened September 15, 2021 when one 54 year old Akinlolu Ajayi, a staff of LSDPC town planning, Ilupeju, was seen on the 3rd Mainland Bridge trying to jump into the lagoon” he said.

The anti-crime patrol team of the Bariga Police Division on routine patrol immediately recused the man and took him into protective custody.

The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation and subsequent prosecution.
