Chukwudi Dumee Onuamadike popularly known as Evans who was accused of kidnapping has said that he is innocent of the charges laid against him.
Evans who has being facing four counts of kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms on Friday claimed that he is not into kidnapping but was into a legitimate business, haulage.
Haulage is a business of transporting goods by road or rail between suppliers and large consumer outlets, factories, warehouses, or depots.
According to him, he has 30 workers on payroll and also said that he was forced to confess to the crime under duress.
According to source, Evans in the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja denied kidnapping Sylvanus Ahamonu, a businessman and collecting $420,000 as ransom.
