The Sentinel Forensic Limited, has testified before the Judicial Panel of inquiry and restitution and said that the bullets fired during the EndSARS protest at Lekki Tollgate in Lagos October 20, 2020 match the Nigerian Army.
According to the company’s representative, Joseph Kayode Funsho, while testifying before the panel said that the live ammunition (bullets) fired at the EndSARS protest at Lekki match those registered by the Nigerian Army.
He however said that the blanks did not match the records from the Nigeria Army’s Inventory.
The findings by the company seems to contradict the claims of the Nigerian Army.
The commander of the 81 Military Intelligence Brigade Ahmed on November 1st 2020, while testifying before the panel insisted that only blank bullets containing gunpowder were fired at the Lekki Tollgate, October 20.
He (Taiwo) also insisted that guns where fired to the air and not directly at the EndSARS protester.
He further explained that the bullets(blank bullets) used were not capable of causing damage to the human body, adding that if the bullets were actually fired, the bullet has the capacity and potency to kill three person at just a shot.
Recall that the Nigerian army had earlier described reports of it’s involvement in the shooting as a fake news before admitting to being present at the scene.
The case was adjourned till Saturday, September 11.
