The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS kicked against the strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
ASUU on Monday declared a comprehensive and total strike at a press conference addressed by the President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke.
According to him, the strike which will take effect from Monday, February 14, 2022, would last for an initial period of four weeks.
The NANS President, Asefon Sunday, in a statement, expressed his disappointment at the comprehensive and total four-week strike declared by the union, ASUU.
He slammed the federal government and ASUU body for their inability to resolve their issues within themselves without going into a strike. He threatened that Nigerian students would go on a nationwide protest to demonstrate their dissatisfaction.
According to source, ASUU President at a press conference on Monday said ASUU National Executive Council resolved to embark on the strike as the government has failed to implement the Memorandum of Action it signed with the ASUU in December 2020.
