The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB on Monday, 24th of January, 2021 rejects the apology letter of a candidate who wrote to the Board, concerning the examination malpractice which he did 21 years ago.
According to source, an ex-candidate of JAMB who is identified as Mr. Timipade Kemepade wrote an apology letter, telling them of his involvement in examination malpractice 21 years ago.
JAMB in its latest bulletin stated that the candidate blamed youthful exuberance for his misconduct and said that the only way it would accept his apology is for him to forfeit all the certificates he had acquired with the result of his Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
Part of the letter read;
“With regret and sincere apology to JAMB, I, Timipade Kemepade, with Certificate No. 33208803GA, confess that I participated in examination malpractice 21 years ago while sitting my JAMB examination.”
“I, therefore, seek the forgiveness of JAMB. I sincerely regret my youthful exuberance.”
The Board however in response to Kemepade, said that the apology and consequent admission of guilt were “rejected in their entirety and are, therefore, not admissible.”
Mr. Kemepade was later informed by the Board that the only condition for accepting his apology is his willingness to forfeit all the certificates which he had acquired with the result of the University Matriculation.
