Guardiola, Tuchel, Mancini were nominated for UEFA Coach of the Year
UEFA, on Thursday, announced their final three-man shortlist for Men’s coach of the year 2020/21.
They are: Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Italy’s Roberto Mancini and Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel.
One of the three managers will be named UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year.
The winner will be named along with the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League positional award winners – at the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League draw in Istanbul on Thursday 26 August.
UEFA made the announcement in a post through their official website.
UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year 2020/21
- Pep Guardiola: Guided Manchester City to their first UEFA Champions League final and restored them at the apex of English domestic football, finishing 12 points clear in the Premier League and lifting the League Cup.
- Roberto Mancini: The puppet master behind the Azzurri’s remarkable rise from failing to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to winning UEFA EURO 2020 in thrilling style, the final their 34th game unbeaten.
- Thomas Tuchel: Orchestrated a sensational turnaround after replacing Frank Lampard on 26 January, leading Chelsea to their second UEFA Champions League title – the first coach to reach successive finals with different clubs.
